The dental abscess is manifested by an infection at the base of the tooth, a swelling that distorts the region in which it is located. The tissue covering the inflamed portion is red, congested and tense.
Bacteria, in combination with saliva, stick to the teeth and attack them.
If the dental plaque is not regularly and properly removed by brushing your teeth or using dental floss, bacteria will multiply and penetrate through the soft tissue inside the tooth or gum, causing dental abscess.
Until you get to see a dentist, you can try one of the following remedies:
Garlic is a natural disinfectant. Just peel and crush a garlic clove to extract the juice. With a cotton bud or with your finger, apply the garlic juice on the affected area twice a day. This remedy is also effective against a common toothache.
Tea or cloves oil
To soothe dental pain of any kind, rinse with a decoction of cloves (5-10 cloves in a cup of water) or brush the painful area with clove oil.
Cloves contain eugenol, the specific odor substance that is used in dentistry. This is a powerful disinfectant and local dental anesthetic.
For maximum effect, combine sage with cloves. Together, these are the most effective home remedies for dental abscess.
